Golf tourney to benefit Falcon basketball

The Crescenta Valley Boys Basketball Booster Club is hosting the 8th Annual Falcon Golf Classic on Monday, Oct. 18 at the Chevy Chase Country Club in Glendale. The event was started as a memorial to a great past Falcon, two-time Pacific League MVP and Male Athlete of the Year James Jenkins.
The Falcon Golf Classic is a critical fundraiser for the basketball program. Funds raised at the Oct. 18 event will offset the costs of tournament fees, uniforms, shoes, assistant coaches, team transportation to and from games, audio/visual upgrades, equipment and balls, and general operational expenses.
Sponsors and players are needed.
The event will include a boxed lunch and after the game there will be a post-event reception with raffle baskets, auction items and dinner.
Full shotgun starts at 1 p.m. For non-golfers, an invitation is extended for dinner and the live auction.
The cost to play is $175 for single player, $320 for a twosome. The golf package includes single entry for 4 man scramble; green fees and cart; range balls; lunch; post event reception and dinner; polo shirt and goodie bag; entries in putting contest, long drive contest, and two closest-to-the-pin contests. Hole-in-one prizes include a 2011 Toyota Prius (valued at $24,000), 42” VIZIO Plasma TV, $1000 Shell gas card, 3 day/2 night vacation for 2 in Cabo or Puerto Vallarta (airfare not included).
All proceeds benefit the boys basketball program at CVHS.
