CV Football Tries to Move Forward After First Loss

The CVHS football team suffered its first defeat last week after Burbank came into Moyse Field and put it to the Falcons, 45-23. The Falcons surrendered the most points they have all season (Pasadena previously scored 28).

With the loss, CV slipped into a three-way tie for second place in the Pacific League, with Burbank and Muir. Arcadia currently stands alone at 4-0.

CV (6-1, 3-1 in league) gave up the ball six times against Burbank, including four interceptions by quarterback Cole Doyle, who was 11 of 22 with 120 yards passing, with one interception. Burbank’s Vincent Vang was the star of the game, as he returned two interceptions for touchdowns, including one he ran back for 70 yards in the first half.

The Falcons have three games left, including Friday against Glendale High School (0-4 in league). After that, the team plays Hoover, and then finish the season on the road at rival Arcadia, which could very well determine the league champion.
