Keeping the Crescenta Valley Community Informed

As the president of the Crescenta Valley Town Council, I am privileged to serve and represent the interests of our wonderful community. Also, I would like to congratulate the new vice president of the council Frida Baghdasarian on her new position.

In this article, I aim to provide an overview of the council’s role and emphasize the dedication of its members to the well-being of all residents of the Crescenta Valley.

The Crescenta Valley Town Council serves as a vital link between the community and local county government. Our primary responsibility is to act as an advisory body, advocating for the interests and concerns of our residents. We work closely with elected officials, government agencies and community organizations to ensure the voices of Crescenta Valley are heard and considered in decision-making processes.

One of the Crescenta Valley Town Council’s greatest strengths is the commitment and passion of its members. Each council member shares a common goal: putting the well-being of all our residents at the forefront of our actions.

Our council members are dedicated individuals and active members of the Crescenta Valley community. Many have been long-time residents, witnessing the growth and changes that have shaped our area. This deep-rooted connection to our community fuels their drive to impact and foster positively a thriving environment for all.

At the heart of our council’s mission is the well-being of every individual who calls Crescenta Valley home. We constantly strive to address issues that matter most to our community, including – but not limited to – public safety, education, infrastructure and environmental concerns.

Through open dialogue, community involvement and collaboration with various stakeholders, the Crescenta Valley Town Council diligently ensures that the interests and concerns of our residents are heard and taken into account. We actively seek feedback, conduct surveys and host public forums to gather insights and opinions from the people we serve.

The first general meeting of 2024 was a great example of our community reaching out to the Council for direction on various concerns. We have ongoing communication with the County regarding the proposed detox facility opening in a solely residential neighborhood and have directed adjoining property owners’ concerns to the appropriate County offices.

Several people voiced concerns about sidewalk vendors. CV Sheriff Station Captain Robert Hahnlein was in attendance to help with questions. We aim to have the LA County Dept. of Public Health attend an upcoming meeting to give the community more information about the vendors.

We encourage all Crescenta Valley residents to engage with us, attend our meetings and share their thoughts and concerns. Together, we can continue to build a strong and vibrant community that we are all proud to call home.

The Crescenta Valley Town Council remains committed to informing our community about matters directly impacting residents’ lives. We recognize the importance of transparency and open communication and strive to be a reliable source of information.

I hope to see you at our meeting on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at the La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd.
