This month was a very exciting month as we, the CVHS Cares Club, hosted our very first meeting! This meeting was kicked off with an introduction to the new members and sharing information about what our club would like to achieve. For example, goals about tackling drug issues, awareness of mental health, community service hours and when club meetings will be. In addition, we youth ambassadors gave an introduction about ourselves and why we think this club is special.
It was very uplifting seeing the very diverse group of people, which included all different grade levels, coming together for the common goal of helping others. Our first plan for a community service opportunity is to visit a local senior center. This gives people the chance to communicate and talk to others, gaining a better understanding of the perspectives of individuals different from themselves. This is so we can grow and help others flourish, too, with spreading positive energy through the community. CV Cares also plans to have future meetings informing students about the dangers of drug use. We strive to build a supportive, uplifting environment where people can openly share their concerns.
As we start this exciting journey, we ambassadors are enthusiastic about the potential impact we can create both at school and the community. We hope CV Cares’ focus on drug awareness and community will foster a culture that inspires others to be kind!
Go Falcons!
