Sick and Tired of Taxes
I am so sick and tired of hearing of how our government in Sacramento needs to increase our taxes. [As if] we, working or retired Californians, are not paying our fair share to help keep this state going.
They have already added more to our gas tax (the highest in the nation). They are talking about a tap water tax. They are talking about taxing our federal tax savings. I am sure there are other things they would like to tax.
Let’s take a look at the fat in Sacramento: Governor – $196,000 per year, State Assembly & Senator $104,211 to $107,241 per year (plus per diem of $183/day while in session for the Senate & Assembly).
Here is some information about office staff cost of some of our state senators; the following information can be seen at http://senate.ca.gov/sites/senate.ca.gov/files/senatepayrollbg.
Anthony J. Portantino (D) District 25 (office staff of 12, total salary $59,984 per month)
Tom Berryhill (R) District 08 (office staff of 11, total salary $67,467 per month)
Kevin de León (D) District 24 (office staff of eight, total salary $57,180 per month)
Mike Morrell (R) District 23 (office staff of 12, total salary $55,208 per month)
Janet Nguyen (R) District 34 (office staff of 10, total salary $55,930 per month)
Tony Mendoza District 32 (office staff of 11, total salary $59,604 per month) (sure glad he gone)
Remember the numbers shown above are just salaries and don’t include benefits.
I think it’s easy to see where we as Californians need to make cuts. Lets get the fat out of Sacramento.
