Kudos to First Responders

Four very kind and experienced gentlemen came to my assistance on Friday morning, April 19, and I need to make mention of them.

I was experiencing a truly horrible lower back spasm that was making it close to impossible for me to move. I called two of my kids, asking them to come over and help me. When they arrived and saw my predicament, it was agreed that we should call 9-1-1.

The paramedics/firemen who arrived were so helpful – not just to me but also in guiding my children as to what would be best for me. Two carried me in a special chair down three flights of stairs and deposited me carefully in the car of my daughter-in-law. She was able to drive me to the Verdugo Hills Emergency Room.

I am sharing my story and gratitude here with all who read this paper because what these people did for me was normal for them, but extraordinary for me!
