Our community is filled with wonderful, honest and responsible people, which is what makes it such a terrific place to live. I’ve always known that, but last night it was proven to me once more.
Around 9:30 there was a knock at my door. Two young people … a young man and a girl … were standing there and told me I had lost something. They handed me a small folder that contained all of my personal belongings … driver’s license, insurance cards and several credit cards! I was stunned. I had no idea it had fallen out of my fanny pack.
This darling young couple had gone for an evening stroll at the top of Oakmont View and found my folder. I had been at the tennis courts early that morning when I obviously lost my cards. It had lain there all day! I was speechless and so thankful. I was also so taken aback that I neglected to get their names. They said they lived close by in La Cañada and were happy they could return it to me. They were all smiles.
Maybe they will read this note so that I can thank them publicly and reaffirm everyone’s faith in human nature … how wonderful! To you two young people, thank you again. I cannot even begin to tell you how appreciative I am of your kind gesture.
Over the past few years, I have been fortunate enough to be able to return lost property to some very grateful people. I now also have had a lesson confirmed, “What goes around, comes around!”
Thanks for lessons and beliefs reaffirmed!
