Heart Full of Gratitude

I want to share with you a wonderful experience I have had locally.  My husband and I have visited the Garden Grill at 2309 Foothill Ave. in La Cañada for several years. We usually go a couple of times a month. You may not remember the rather non-descript business formerly located at Ocean View & Foothill but the new owners (Mr. & Mrs. Mohamad-Reza Abghary) have transformed it into a delightful place to see and visit.

There is a flag always flying, fountains tinkling, birds in cages singing, roses and other flowers blooming. Needless to say we love the food (Persian) but far more important is the warmth of this couple. They seem committed to making everyone feel welcome. It has worked for us.

I have been ill and eating is not easy for me right now. I sent my husband to bring me something home from the Garden Grill and they not only prepared it special for me but then refused payment. I am sure I am not the only person who has been touched by their kindness.

If you can visit the Garden Grill get a glass of good iced tea (they serve lots of fresh mint which I put in mine), listen to the birds and fountain and enjoy the smiles of the owners. I don’t think they know my name but you can say Pearl sent you.

We are blessed to have lots of wonderful people in our community like the Abharys. My thanks to them and my thanks to you for letting me share.
