Angela Gaignard of Sunland earned a spot on the spring 2016 president’s list at Southern Arkansas University. Gaignard was one of 225 students named to the spring president’s list. To qualify, a student must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester.

David Belcher of La Cañada Flintridge has been awarded a fellowship worth $5,000 by The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Belcher earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from University of California, Davis. As a Phi Kappa Phi fellow, he will pursue a juris doctorate at the UC Berkeley School of Law.
Belcher is among 57 students nationwide to receive a Phi Kappa Phi fellowship.
Since its creation in 1932, the fellowship program has become one of the Society’s most visible and financially well-supported endeavors, allocating $345,000 annually to deserving students for first-year graduate or professional study. Currently, 51 Fellowships of $5,000 and six of $15,000 are awarded each year.

Alexandria Battison of La Cañada Flintridge was honored by Lafayette College for academic excellence at the annual All-College Honors Convocation. Awards and prizes were presented to 138 students in all four of Lafayette’s academic divisions – engineering, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences.
Battison, a graduate of Westridge School, was the recipient of the William C. Rappolt ’67 and Walter Oechsle ’57 Neuroscience Prize, awarded to outstanding seniors based on scholarship in the classroom and laboratory and service to the major, college, or community.
Battison graduated from Lafayette College and earned a bachelor of science in neuroscience.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has named Griffin Harting of La Crescenta, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, to the dean’s list for the spring semester of the 2015-16 academic year.
Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. Richard Hathaway of La Canada Flintridge was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Hathaway is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences.
To qualify for the dean’s list in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

Megan Siepler of La Cañada was among the students who earned a place on the University of Dubuque spring semester 2016 academic dean’s list.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for that semester.
The University of Dubuque, founded in 1852, is a private, coeducational, professional University with a focus in the liberal arts.

Chad J. Rahtz of Tujunga has been selected for inclusion on the dean’s list for academic achievement during the spring 2016 semester at St. Lawrence University.
Rahtz is a member of the Class of 2016 and is majoring in economics. He attended St. Francis High School.
To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.
