NEWS FROM THE CVTC

The Crescenta Valley Town Council is excited to announce its upcoming general meeting, which will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library. This meeting will provide an excellent opportunity for community members to engage with council members, discuss important local issues and share their thoughts and ideas.

In a heartfelt expression of gratitude, I extend my sincerest thanks to my colleague Dede Mueller for organizing an outstanding outreach event focused on school safety as we embark on a new school year. This vital initiative brought together local agencies, including the sheriff’s department, CHP, the assistant principal from Crescenta Valley High School, the principal from Rosemont Middle School, and dedicated county officials. Their collaborative effort will ensure the safety of our community as we start this academic year, and we ask everyone in the community – especially the parents at our schools –to adhere to these essential safety measures. We can create a secure environment and have a safe and successful school year.

Now, mark your calendars for our annual pancake breakfast scheduled for Oct. 12 at St. Luke’s of the Mountains Church, 2563 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. From 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., community members are invited to enjoy a delicious breakfast of fluffy pancakes while supporting a great cause. This beloved event serves as one of the primary fundraising efforts for the council, allowing us to provide scholarships to local high school students at the end of the academic year. Every ticket purchased and every pancake enjoyed directly contributes to the future of our youth, helping them pursue their educational dreams. Bring your family, friends and neighbors for a morning of fun, food, and community spirit!

In addition to the pancake festivities, the council wants to remind everyone that elections are just around the corner. Community engagement is not just critical; it’s crucial, and this is an excellent opportunity for residents to get involved. Those interested in running for a position on the council should please visit our website and social media platforms for more information. Your active participation can make a significant difference in our community’s future.

Important Reminder: Applications to run must be postmarked or received by 5 p.m. on Oct. 8. Interested candidates can find the application at www.thecvcouncil.com.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our general meeting on Sept. 19 and the pancake breakfast on Oct. 12. Together we can continue to enhance our vibrant community!
